Livestock
We keep a few different breeds here for herding. We are not a commercial farm but we do have a few head of cattle and sheep available at certain times of the year.
St. Croix Sheep
St. Croix sheep are a very hardy white hair sheep. They are easy to care for, as far as sheep go, and never need shearing.
St. Croix sheep have a strong flocking instinct which makes them perfect for herding.
St. Croix are always ready for action and though they are a friendly sheep, they never seem to sour for herding.
Sheep for Sale
Adult St. Croix $125.00
Ewes with lambs at side $125.00 for ewe and $50.00 per lamb (when available)
Lambs available late spring $75.00.
Barbados (fawn or deer colored hair sheep)
All sheep sold as locker lambs are $1.00 per lb hanging weight (minimum $50), buyer pays for slaughter cut and wrap ( we use Lynden Meats) , plus a $10.00 waster removal charge.
